Year Five Composition: Contrasting Thoughts and Speech

Year Five Composition: Pricking Pomposity

We have been learning about 'pricking pomposity' and 'hyperbole' in comedy.

Task:
1. Write a scene - 10-15 lines - where a pompous woman gets her comeuppance. Make sure it is over-the-top.

2. Complete the self-assessment for self-improvement sheet for your homework.

Year Five Prose Style: Combining Colons and Semi-colons

Write the first 15 lines of a story about an angry dog.

I don't really mind about the story itself...the challenge is to include at least:
* three colons
* two semi-colons

Feeling clever? Try to include a bracket, too.

Year 5 and 6 Weekend Homework: Ghost Ballads & Persuasive Adverts
