Year Six Poetry Presentation

1. Prepare a three minute presentation on a classic poem (no short, 'funny' poems - challenge yourself, please!)

Due: presentations on the Friday after half-term. 3 minutes. You may use PowerPoints, Prezis, models or posters. Do discuss M.R. S.R.A.N.D. D.R.O.P.S.

2. Read 'Mowgli's Brothers' from the Jungle Book, too.

Year Four Half-Term Homework: Reading Presentation

Nothing beats a good book.

For half-term, I want you to read a book and prepare a three minute presentation to share with the class.

This presentation might take the form of:
* A PowerPoint
* A poster
* A model

In your presentation, include:
1. Who is the author?
2. Summarise the plot (What happens in the story?)
3. Why is it a good book?

We'll present on the Friday after half-term.

Year Six Poetry

1. Personification Poetry

Write a personification poem

Focus on each line (that the line 'for a walk' using your poetry cards)

Write four-five excellent lines describing the personified abstract noun.

We'll redraft and turn into a Prezi on Monday.

2. Bring in a story from the papers - a human interest poem.

Write a second go - a second draft - of your 'Can't Get There From Here' story (the Desmond going home story).

We have been learning about haiku.

Task: Write a Housework Haiku on your Kidblog. Make sure you 'take a sentence for a walk' using your Cards before commiting each line to paper.

Year Four & Five


1. Write a description of your ideal – perfect – bedroom. Include a bracket in every sentence.

My bedroom (which is at the top of the stairs next to the Cinema) is like a New Year's Eve party. The bed (which is made from pure gold) is next to the enormous bookcase, and just behind the Playstation 5.


Feeling clever? Include similes and metaphor, too!
