Year Six Symbolism

Year Six have been learning about symbolism, including the use of the 'pathetic fallacy' (weather symbolism).

Homework
1. Watch the Symbolism 'ShowMe' above at home before you begin writing, so you can 'learn again';

2. We've been reading extract from Oliver Twist. Write a story about a child being inducted into a Fagin-style gang; your challenge is to include weather symbolism to suggest the 'creepy' mood to the reader, however superficially 'nice' the Fagin character might seem to the child. Write 1 1/2 sides of A4.

3. Next week is Test Week; please revise the Spellings you've been learning with Mrs Mannan in preparation for Monday's Spelling Age assessment. You also need to prepare your pencil case for the first Year Six Mock Examination on Tuesday.
